Friends of Farmington

In July of 2016 a small group of individuals decided to form a non-profit organization for the benefit of our community. 

In November, a for sale sign was placed in the window of the historic Masonic Hall which had been recently renovated following a devastating fire.  We decided to take a look at the building.  After seeing the space, we realized that this could be the catalyst for all of the ideas that we had brainstormed over the past few months.  "The Possibilities Are Endless"

We made an offer to purchase the building.  After discussing our ideas with the owner, he was impressed with our vision.  Since we are a non-profit organization, he was very accommodating and gave us time to raise the necessary funds for the purchase.

After a lot of hard work, and an outpouring of support from friends and community members, we were able to close on the building. 

In May we opened our doors for Twelve Step Meetings and Recovery Support. Currently, we are busy planning activities for the summer months including a theatre camp for students, health and wellness programs for senior citizens and workshops for entrepreneurs.  

Our building has two large display windows. We offer the space to local businesses and community organizations every month at no charge. Taylor Rental decorated our window for the month of May.  Our business for June is Village Bouquet.

Although the building was renovated, there are some needed improvements. We are in the process of getting approvals through the town for use of the second and third floors.

Our plans are to repair the stained glass windows, add a restroom and repair the heating system. Since we recently purchased the building, we do not have the funds to complete all of these improvements. We are asking for your help with these projects. With your generosity, we can reach our goal.

Who We Are

Friends of Farmington believes that addressing challenges in a positive and proactive manner can make Farmington a more vibrant and productive community.
Our vision is to provide a place within the community to propel economic development with job skill training and resume writing, and foster small business by providing affordable incubator space. We will offer a variety of educational and enrichment opportunities for all of our residents.
In addition, we will support our friends in Recovery by providing meeting space to support their efforts,
