About Us  
My organization was set up to help the poor and disadvantaged in the Black Belt area. We have no administrative expenses and 99% of donations go directly to help these people. A few examples of how we have helped are: we have bought washing machines for elderly that have never owned one, we paid for medical supplies like dentures and glasses. We received stoves, refrigerators, and other appliances through a project with St. Mary’s church, We have received sofas, love seats, library tables, end tables, and cushions mainly from Summer Classics. We pay for discounted magazines from EBSCO Industries for 19 schools that without them would have no magazines for their libraries. We have bought 84,000 books for school libraries in the last eight years. We received in donations from the Hoover School System 480+ desks that were delivered to Hackleburg’s schools. We then bought and delivered all of Hackleburg’s teachers’ desks and their teachers’ chairs, their library tables and their chairs, and all of their library books. Then to help further that school district and Phil Campbell’s we paid for 94 tickets to see “Les Miserables” and in February “Wicked.”
Because we spent 50% of our budget on helping the tornado victims we have run out of money. The money contributed to our group will be used for helping on our spring projects. We have already had a request for a sign at Buhl Elementary, furniture and books for families that have lost their homes, and seed money to help fund “cottage industries” in Lamar County.
