Over the years t he Friends have enabled Ho`opono to carry out programs such as New Visions. They have  provided funds for facility renovation, rent for the apartment complex, camps on the north shore, youth outdoor programming, and vocational training. The Friends have no paid staff and no office expenses. Funds received enable Ho`opno to provide programs and services that benefit recipeints throughout their lifetime. Thanks to the Hawai`i Association of the Blind and the National Federation of the Blind Hawai`i affiliate as well as individual donors the Friends over the years have had enough funds available to make a difference. Additional dollars are always welcomed to ensure that the Friends will remain a viable resource for the agency. Please consider making a donation of any amount so that the Friends will always be arouund to aid the blind of Hawai`i and the Pacific region.

Friends funds paid for the renovation of the Low Vision Clinic and the recent addition to the student kitchen area. In February, 2015 the Friends made a substantial donation to help ensure the continualtion of low vision examinations for the public.

A youth return trip combing service and adventure (serventure) to the Haleakala National Park summit area is once again in the works for the summer of 2015. Funds from the Friends of Ho`opono will help ensure that the trek takes place. Those whom participated in the first Haleakala outing almost 9 years ago still receive benefit from the experience. One of them is now a staff member at the agency and is hopeful that others will reap the same lasting rewards he did. Your contributions to the Friends of Ho`opono will make sure that they do!
