Friends of Kentucky Libraries Inc

Friends of Kentucky Libraries (FKL) provides a voice for public library users and supporters.  Through its work with existing local Friends chapters and its support for the formation of new chapters, it seeks to encourage high levels of local citizen advocacy as well as state level legislative advocacy.  FKL provides tools and information to facilitate this kind of citizen involvement.  Donations to FKL support communication with and training for citizen advocates.  Donations are also used to reimburse local chapters for expenses incurred when applying for tax exempt status.  While many library professionals join FKL, the organization is chiefly dedicated to being the voice of those who use, love, and understand the importance of Kentucky's public libraries.
