This Year, 2017, is the fifth year of Friends of Kings Peaks wilderness intern program in Henry's Fork Basin of the High Uintas Wilderness in northern Utah. Our interns collectively have talked to 5000 visitors and collected and removed 1000 pounds of trash. Most importantly 2016 is the first year that Henry's Fork basin did not have a helicopter assisted Search and Recue for the entire summer season. With a single day cost to taxpayers of $17,000, search and rescue operations are expensive and draw resources away from the population centers of the Wasatch Front. Please help us maintain this wonderful resource for generations to come.
