Friends of Mimosa Hall & Gardens Inc

Friends of Mimosa Hall and Gardens' mission is to champion the sustainable preservation of Mimosa Hall and Gardens, where history and culture engage and uplift the community.

When the Hansell family put the historic Mimosa Hall and Gardens up for sale in 2017, a grassroots community organization developed to encourage the City of Roswell to purchase the 1841 home. Mimosa Hall is a founder's home with historic gardens created by famed Atlanta architect Neel Reid in the 1920's. Once the home and grounds were purchased, the work began to make the home an asset for the community.

One of the first needs for the 1841 home was a roof replacement. The Friends of Mimosa lead an effort to make that replacement an Integrated Solar Roof. Once this new roof is complete, the Friends of Mimosa will seek official Net Zero status under the Living Building Challenge, making Mimosa Hall the oldest house with Net Zero designation in the United States.

The grounds and the home are being properly restored for the use of the community. We ask that you join us as we strive to ensure that this historical home is there to serve the community of the future.
