Friends of Park Rosemarie Dog Park

A nonprofit organization

$660 raised by 11 donors

A group of enthusiastic  canine advocates, known as the Friends of Park Rosemarie Dog Park,  are working to develop the first dog park in Polk County.  They have chosen a small 4.2- acre park in St. Croix Falls called Park Rosemarie,  also home to the city’s community gardens, as the site to construct the St. Croix Falls Dog Park.

The purpose of a dog park is to provide a safe place for residents and visitors to exercise their dogs  and enjoy an integral part of St. Croix Falls: the parks and trails.  The group has been fund raising for several months now to collect donations for the purpose of fencing in the park for dogs to run off-leash.  They hope to complete phase 1 of the park this spring with the fencing enclosure of the small and geriatric dog area.  It will be used for all dogs until enough funds are raised to complete phase 2--fencing the remainder of the park, which will then be the large dog area.  The park will have double gate entries into each area, provide bags for dog waste and trash receptacles.   Mowed walking trails loop you through trees, rock outcroppings, and native prairie.  The dog park is designed to retain much of the natural beauty while enticing canines and their owners to get out and exercise for better health and to combat obesity.  The park will promote community building and allow pets to frolic and socialize without infringing on private and public property or impacting traffic.

We have raised $9,000 of our $25,000 goal to complete this important community project! We can't do it without your help!
