St. Alphonsus Church is currently closed because of Hurricane Ida and is awaiting word from the owners of the building, the Redemptorists, on the future of the building. In the meantime, the Friends of St. Alphonsus is continuing to promote the history, art and culture of the Church. We may also have a DVD

We recently completed our annual creche exhibit and are planning our annual meeting to elect officers. We are raising funds this year to assist in our museum storage costs and other projects we are planning for 2025-26. We are working on an audio and dvd visual tour of the Church. We will also make available soon, Historic Churches of New Orleans and Sam Wilson's history book of St. Alphonsus and other materials. We may also have a dvd of Canova's ceiling and F.X. Zettler's stained glass windows. For a $25 gift you will receive an audio tour of the church by Susan Levy, cofounder of Friends of St. Alphonsus. For a $50 gift or more, you will receive the audio tour and a dvd visual tour of St. Alphonsus by William Murphy, church historian.
