A young mother comes to the library to jump start her baby's education at Sing with your Baby.  A retiree joins the Community Reads conversation about hospital choices and hospice services.  Teens drop in to explore the After School maker space.

Your Friends membership contribution can make our libraries welcoming places by offering programs and books for everyone.

  • Library collections expanded with $19,000 donated by the Friends.
  • Children developed their art and music skills at Free Children's Music Concerts, sing-alongs for babies, and art classes -- all funded by the Friends.
  • Families saved money with free or discounted admission to ten museums, such as the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Mass MOCA in North Adams, and Amherst's Eric Carle Museum with passes purchased by the Friends.
  • Free writing workshops and the jubilat/Jones poetry series encouraged beginning writers to tell their stories, one of many opportunities created by Friends funding.
  • All Amherst second graders are invited to tour the Jones Library, and each child receives the gift of a book from the Friends to start their own collection.
  • The Friends also bring people together to talk about books at Summer Reading Clubs for children, teens and adults at Jones, North Amherst, and Munson Libraries.

Friends contributions make all this happen plus much more. Won't you help? Join the Friends today!
