Library service in Milltown began in the mid-1930s.  We have moved to different locations over the years to accommodate the increase in patron demands.   Since that time the library has offered a myriad of resources, programs, and services to the community and surrounding areas. The public library has become a place where the community gathers to relax and share ideas as well as books, reference materials, and entertainment.  The library is also crucial to helping reduce the digital divide, providing access to computers internet access, online resources such as e-books and e-audio books.

Our current building became insufficient to meet the needs of our community.  With the assistance of a CDBG Grant, the Village of Milltown, and you, our patrons we have now completed our construction project.  This included a renovation and expansion of the existing building.  We now have a larger programming area to allow us to serve more people; a dedicated children's area; a teen area; and areas for adults to sit and enjoy books or magazines. We are excited and honored to share this newly renovated library!

Being closed over the last year has helped to find ways to reach out and help more community members.  Over the last year, we have had many virtual and take-home activities for our youth. We have given out books, and other materials to keep kids engaged in learning and reading as the world changed around them.  We have also been working with the local meals on wheels and distributing activities to seniors and disabled community members who have been isolated due to the pandemic.
