Did you know the Shelter receives no state or federal funding, nor do we receive funding from national/regional humane societies or associations? The Shelter operates as a no-kill animal shelter that provides adoption/rescue services and meaningful outreach programs which advance the welfare of companion animals, serve our community, and make a positive impact on pet overpopulation.  

As a non-profit organization, The Scituate Animal Shelter continues our drive to provide the best quality care for animals of the greater South Shore region which can no longer be cared for by their previous owners. Animals entrusted to the care of the animal shelter are provided optimal treatment in a state-of-the-art facility by a qualified professional staff and trained volunteers focused on finding forever homes for these pets. We consider our residents the lucky ones because of the love that our entire shelter family showers upon these animals each day until they are adopted.
