The mission of Panhandle Animal Shelter is to create and support meaningful connections by enhancing the lives of dogs, cats, and the people in our community who love them.
Panhandle Animal Shelter serves the Inland Northwest, offering intake services for owner surrender dogs and cats, adoptions, Trap-Neuter-Release for community cats, low income spay and neuter options, a helpline, a free food bank and the Home to Home program that provides a platform for owners to re-home their pets and avoid surrendering to a shelter.
At the shelter, cats live a cage-free life and dogs enjoy the benefits of being out of their kennels walking or playing at least five times a day. We do not euthanize for space which allows fearful dogs an opportunity to turn the corner and gain a new outlook on life. We are community partners with high volume shelters providing them with a positive option to reduce euthanasia.
Panhandle Animal Shelter is also dedicated to youth and offers many programs to help children and young adults understand the value of service giving and the importance of litter prevention.
