Friends of Stroud Region Open Space and Recreation Commission is the nonprofit arm of the Stroud Region Open Space and Recreation Commission (Stroud Recreation), which manages the public parks and recreation facilities across Stroudsburg Borough, East Stroudsburg Borough, and Stroud Township. Our parks, trails, and programs are for everyone — and we need your help to keep them that way.

We care for more than 4.5 miles of the Levee Loop Trail and the greater Stroud Greenway, offering beautiful spaces for walking, biking, and connecting with nature. We manage public playgrounds, skate parks, sports fields, and the Day Street Community Center. Our two public pools offer a refreshing place to cool off in summer, while StroudKids Summer Camp and year-round low-cost and free programs bring fun, enrichment, and community connection to residents of all ages.

And we do all of this with just two full-time staff members, a small but mighty team of seasonal staff, and an incredible crew of dedicated volunteers.

While we receive contributions from our municipalities, those funds don’t stretch far enough to support our growing need for updated facilities, inclusive and safe spaces, and accessible programming. Donations allow us to:

• Keep programs low-cost or free, so no one is turned away due to finances


• Update aging infrastructure in our pools, playgrounds, and community spaces


• Hire quality staff to run camps, classes, and seasonal events


• Maintain safe, beautiful parks and trails for all to enjoy
