$50,555 raised by 77 donors

The Friends of the Thomaston Opera House is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to improving and restoring the historic facility. Friends raises funds, participates in the planning and execution of improvement and restoration projects at the Thomaston Opera House, and supports operations.

We are excited to share the transformative renovations scheduled for our beloved Thomaston Opera House. In the last 18months, the historic ceiling coffers, beams, and coves have been meticulously restored to their original grandeur, and the next phase is being planned. Your support during Give Local will help to support our mission of restoring the Thomaston Opera House to its original grandeur while maintaining its historical integrity.

The Thomaston Opera House, built in 1884, stands as a cherished piece of Connecticut's rich cultural and architectural heritage. Notably, it is one of the few remaining sites visited by Father Michael J. McGivney during his lifetime. It is listed on the National Registry of Historic Buildings.
