Friends of Wakulla Springs - Endowment Fund

A Citizen's Support Organization (Cso) for Wakulla Springs State Park in Wakulla County, Florida, whose mission is to conserve, protect & enhance the natural, historical, cultural and recreational resources of Wakulla Springs State Park for present and future generations. The Friends of Wakulla Springs State Park, Inc. was organized to stem a threat to the cave system leading to the emerging spring water at the park. As a result, a proposed gas station opposite the park was thwarted; land acquisition support resulted in the addition of thousands of acres that protect our aquifer and karst system; historic park buildings were protected and upgraded and an interpretive addition was included at the ticket office to the tour boat rides. We continue to provide financial park operations support where funding falls short to keep this large natural resource open public enjoyment.
