Friends of the Whitehall Public Library

A nonprofit organization

Friends of Whitehall Public Library Mission Statement: Establish and support The Whitehall Library and its mission as the community resource for education, exploration, enrichment and enjoyment by helping to increase public awareness, encourage donations and advocate for library funding.

The financial donations from the Friends of the Whitehall Public Library (FWPL) to the Whitehall Public Library (WPL) are an integral component in the annual library budget. Without these donations the library would feel a detrimental impact on the services, collections, and programs which it offers to the community. These services, collections, and programs include, but are not limited to: the LEARN Bus, which provides transportation to refugee patrons to the library for programs and resources, Books-on- Wheels for shut-in residents, outreach programs to Assisted Living residents, monthly book clubs in multiple genres, books, magazines, DVDs, and audio book collections, summer reading programs for children, teens and adults, as well as informative speakers on a multitude of subjects. All of these services, collections, and programs would feel a direct detrimental impact without the donations from the Friends of the Whitehall Public Library.
