The Friends of Coconino County Parks (FCCP) supports the Coconino County Parks and Recreation Department's efforts in land conservation, park development, volunteerism and recreational activities. FCCP provides private sector funding to benefit the parks,
Accomplishments 2012-2024
- Raised funds and built a sustainable shade structure (Ponderosa Ramada) at Sawmill County Park and the Community Equestrian Arena at Fort Tuthill
- Completed “Let’s Get Out in the Woods” a series of free guided hiking educational activities while exploring County Parks and Natural Areas, for Country residents, especially children and teenagers
- Contributed to complete Flagstaff Loop Trail Segment 20
- Facilitated grants and donations to fund the Fort Tuthill County Park trail signage and public way finding system
- Partnered with Town of Fredonia as a fiscal sponsor to facilitate donations to build a fitness trail
- Provide volleyball nets at volleyball courts in Fort Tuthill County Park (installation in Spring 2014)
- Established Recreation Program Scholarship Fund for low-income households to access Coconino County Parks and Recreation-administered recreation programs http://coconino.az.gov/RecPrograms
- Partner with Flagstaff Extreme Adventure Course to raise money and build to build a Kids Outdoor Adventure Area in Fort Tuthill County Park's adventure zone http://www.flagstaffextreme.com/
