Future Hope Africa, Inc

Nabintu Mujambere (Bintu) grew up in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and moved to Belgium in 2003 to attend the University of Mons. She pursued Bachelor and Masters degrees in French education.  

As Bintu continued her studies in Belgium the plight of families in her home country consumed her thoughts. While many young DRC adults leave to attend college and do not return, Bintu vowed to go back and use her knowledge and skills to improve education and life for children and families in Bukavu. While in Mons, she met many Americans from a local NATO facility who soon came to share her vision.

After returning to the DRC, Bintu set to work opening two education centers in her home city of Bukavu. One to assist the teachers of Bukavu in improving the way they teach French to their students. The other, to provide a place for students to receive help with their homework and tutoring in French.

In just a few years the services and activities offered have expanded and the number of children using the Education center has increased.  Bintu's American supporters realized the need to raise funds for that expansion to continue and to allow the organization to serve more children.

In 2012 a group of supporters began the process of forming the nonprofit organization called Future Hope Africa to raise funds to expand Bintu's vision to other areas of the DRC and eventually to other countries in Africa.

The Future Hope Africa center in Bukavu has already outgrown it's physical capacity.  While seeking God's guidance to expand the education center, FHA continues to minister to the community. In 2016 Future Hope Africa partnered with local churches in Bukavu to teach entrepreneurial and leadership skills to teenagers and adults.  Home grown leadership, based on Christian principles will bring new life to the DRC and Central Africa; growing responsible citizens and leaders.
