Future INDesign is a 501(c)3 STEAM career development program for marginalized young adults!  

Marginalized young adults are defined as a group that does not have adequte access to the resources needed to be successful adults. They become "at-risk" of getting trapped in the cycle of inter-generational poverty. Several factors influence this risk including adverse childhood experiences, low-income status, new-American status, minority status and limited access to resources.

90% of careers emerging nationally require tech proficiency, yet 84% of Utah’s low-income families do not have a home computer.

The FutureINDesign Technology in the Margins approach, uses the talent needs of the growing economic segments of science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics (STEAM) to train young adults in the workplace skills that will make them competetive and marketable for these industries. 

The FIND mission is to narrow the digital literacy gap in Utah through immersive training in key technology and life skills!

As this gap widens, it will directly impact underserved young adults already facing intergenerational poverty. FIND will break this cycle through sustainable life skills, education and job placement in tech companies which are experiencing a talent shortage, unaware a capable workforce exists within reach.

How does FIND work?

Underserved young adults are hired as Junior Designers, and participate in a paid, workforce development program. FIND works with industry leaders to mentor Junior Designers allowing them a hands-on, real world experience by provide local businesses Graphic Design, and Programming assets.

Junior Designers graduate with a professional portfolio and online presence making them marketable for the workplace, freelance, and/or entrepreneurial economies. 

Future INDesign will reduce constrains of intergenerational poverty by creating a scalable pipeline of talent for Utah's growing tech workforce!
