Greater St. Louis Babywearing

A nonprofit organization

Greater St. Louis Babywearing offers free babywearing education sessions across the Metro Saint Louis area. During meetings we provide caregivers with education about safe babywearing as well as an opportunity to try on different carrier types. Our volunteers are parents who have found babywearing to be an essential survival tool for parenting in the modern age. Babywearing can help baby be calmer and more content and give caregivers the ability to bond with baby while simultaneously tending to their own needs as well as those of other family members. Research shows that babywearing helps mothers who wish to breastfeed be successful, and can help reduce symptoms of postpartum depression. The modern world of babywearing can be overwhelming and sometimes seem unattainable, and we strive to ensure that any caregiver who wishes to babywear can access the knowledge and tools they need to do successfully.

To fulfill its mission, Greater St. Louis Babywearing will:

Empower caregivers through educational meetings, online support, distribution of literature, and outreach events in a safe, welcoming, and accessible environment
Maintain a library of carriers that offers caregivers the opportunity to experience the broad spectrum of carrier options available
Broaden our scope of service to reach potential babywearers in all populations within the greater St. Louis community
Respect all individuals and accept that caregivers' choices are being made in their child's best interest
Build a community of caregivers who enjoy the benefits of babywearing
Establish and maintain partnerships with community members and organizations
Train and support Babywearing educators
