Young Mens Christian Association of the Coosa Valley Inc

The YMCA has been serving the Gadsden community since the early 60's.  Today our Y is providing programs that reach into many areas of our community.  The Y provides these program opportunitites for people even when the financial means for participation is not present. Our outreach efforts included daycamp opportunities for children who would not have a summer camp experience.  Our basketball academy is not just teaching basketball but teaching those life lessons that lead to a healthy productive life.  We serve many seniors and our aquatic programs have allowed grandmothers and grandfathers the ability to still play with their grandchildren because of the exercise they receive at the Y.  The Y has a program for young and old. 

Membeship dues make all of these programs happen.  Due to the economy memberships to the Y are not as popular as they have been.  This has placed great financial stress on our operation.  However, the Y has continued to serve. 

 

I hope any inidividual would be inspired to support the Y as we are making a diference in those lives that we touch.
