The Gadsden Public Library Foundation was created in 2006 for the purpose of serving the mission of the Gadsden Public Library. The Foundation consists solely of individual volunteers. One hundred percent of funds received by the Foundation go directly into library programming, outreach and materials development. The GPL Foundation raises funds through special events, public donations and grant writing. Foundation funding provides: performers from around the country for the Children's and Young Adult Summer Reading Programs which reach 800 participants annually, materials for the library's daycare book swap which circulates new books throughout daycares in Gadsden, book arts programs to introduce the community to the art of book and papermaking, authors, poets and illustrator visits to the library and local schools, a Summer Music Series, additional materials for our Alabama City and East Gadsden branch locations, just to name a few activities. Without the funds raised by the Gadsden Public Library Foundation, none of these programs would be possible. Your donation and continued support will allow the children and adults of Etowah County continued access to materials and quality educational programs while fostering a lifelong love of libraries.
