Kaua'i Forest Bird Recovery Project

We need your help to protect some of the rarest and most endangered forest birds in the world—species that are found only in Hawai'i. The unique bird populations of Kaua'i are facing unprecedented threats from invasive species, habitat loss, and diseases transmitted by mosquitoes

- Birds not Mosquitoes Partnership receives Hawaii Conservation Innovation Award. Read more here. 

- Mosquito Control: Pilot studies for implementation of the Incompatible Insect Technique on Kaua'i to protect our native Honeycreepers successfully completed and large-scale aerial applications of bacterical larvicide ongoing.  

- Rat Control: We added more rat traps to Mohihi, core breeding habitat for the critically endangered Puaiohi.
