The mission of The Gardens at Heather Farm is to enrich the communith through the beauty and environmental stewarship of our gardens while providing educational programs and a variety of venue for social and cultural events.

Our six-acre property holds various garden areas open from sunrise through sunset and providing a beautiful and serene environment for strolling, resting or picnicking with family and friends. Our youth education program reaches over 15,000 K-5 school children in Contra Costa County, and also offers nature-inspired classes for babies and preschoolers. Our adult education programFrom the Ground Up, offers practical lessons on developing gardens, then using the garden’s bounty to create unique home décor and gifts.

Did you know that The Gardens is completely self-funded? Each year, we rely on membership fees, contributions and rental fees to move forward with our mission to enrich the community and be a valuable resource for all our patrons. To keep our facility running, our gardens blooming and our education programs thriving, we depend on your support. You can donate and make a difference.

When you donate to The Gardens:

  • Fund a garden renovation project to beautify the area and educate visitors
  • Keep our beautiful garden areas open for public enjoyment
  • Help a child in need receive a nature-oriented learning experience
  • Provide scholarships for elementary school classrooms to receive Natural Science presentations
