Gary Life Education Initiative Is a big part of why I am the person I am today. They've help me gain higher self esteem, and do so much better in school because I'm hearing impaired. Without their help I don't know what would have happened... And as a result of everything that I learned from Gary life I am now a Senior with a GPA of 4.75 and I'm getting ready to go off to college on a full ride scholarship. I can't thank them enough for everything that they taught me.

Gary Life is working to make this headline a reality! We extend this opportunity for you to give and help us continue the work to help make this headline a reality. 

Reality:  91% of students enter Gary Life programs unaware of the proper steps required to graduate high school, graduate college and transition into a successful career. 

81% of students who participate in Gary Life programs live
at or below the poverty level.

The reality of success: After one school year participating with Gary Life programs, 100% of students want to graduate high school and they have a written graduation plan to achieve their goals. 

98% of students are more aware of the proper steps required to graduate high school, graduate college and transition into a successful career. 

98% of students continue to the next grade level on time or graduate on time.

Every student receives a success portfolio with written college and career goals, a personal vision and mission statement. 

Several students have received a double promotion in high school and began college one year early.  

As of January 1, 2016, Gary Life has helped over 10,000 students through the following services:
College Readiness in the Classroom:  Interactive classroom workshops that provide student opportunities to develop specific step-by-step vision and mission statements; academic goals; written high school graduation plans, scholarship research; college transition plans; college graduation plans and career transition plans.

Learn from Leaders: provides the opportunity to maximize community engagement and mentoring partnerships. Student leaders, business professionals, college students, college graduates, college professors, college admissions representatives and community leaders visit our in school programs and speak with students about life skills, leadership development, career and college opportunities.

College Tours: provide the opportunity for students to gain exposure to college campuses and the admissions process.

Career Exploratory Field Trips: provide the opportunity for students to gain exposure to business operations.

Life After Graduation: provides the opportunity for students to gain exposure to their post-secondary options through assemblies; college fairs; youth job fairs and/or community organization fairs.

Student Show and Tell:  provides a platform for students to share their college and career goals with their parents, teachers and community support team.  Students dress up as their chosen career professional.

Care Package Program:  Provides graduates with care packages that include the resources needed to succeed in life after high school graduation.

Family college planning sessions and coordination of college tours.

Teacher Feedback:  I personally have witnessed my students’ lives transformed by the rigorous and engaging college readiness curriculum and activities provided within my classroom. This partnership visibly connected with my students’; engaging them in reflective conversation and activities about their education and future.  Because of Gary Life Education Initiative’s calling to educate our students on becoming the best human being possible, my students now have a sense of self awareness, high self-esteem, and most importantly, they know the prominence of a good education.
