They weren’t given a choice. Together we can give them a chance.
When our Founder, Lenette Serlo, brought two opioid-exposed boys home from the hospital, the doctors offered congratulations, but no warning about what was ahead. Opioid withdrawal was just the beginning. Ordinary parenting tools didn’t work. Inconsolability, academic problems, aggression, and endless questions left her searching for answers.
She found a private Facebook group, now numbering 7,800 caregivers, of adoptive, foster, kinship, and biological parents facing the same struggles. Their stories echo across the nation. In the last 25 years, more than 750,000 babies have been born exposed to opioids.
That’s why we started Generation O. Because ignoring these children is the real epidemic.
We provide caregivers with support, education, and hope—through online communities, a research-backed resource hub, and our Generation O Research Consortium working to secure a lasting diagnosis and services for these children.
But we can’t do it alone. Our website, support group, and programs exist thanks to volunteers and donors. With your gift, we can reach more families, educate more professionals, and make sure no child born into the opioid crisis is left behind.
Donate today. Don't let opioids define a generation.
