Genesis City

Our mission is: to effect positive change in our community by helping to empower underserved at-risk youth and their families to acquire the education and work skills they need to become lifelong learners and productive members of the community in this and future generations. 

It is estimated that every disenfranchised youth costs society over $400,000 in public assistance, not to mention lost wages, income taxes and sales taxes.  Furthermore, those who become career criminals and drug users cost society $2.2 to $3.0 million apiece. Simply put, we are giving up as lost these Arizona teenagers.  This issue is most severe in the central Phoenix corridor where Genesis City is based.  Yet, as Genesis City consistently demonstrates, there is hope.  By providing the right combination of life planning, job readiness training and counseling, Genesis is showing its participants the road to success.

The Genesis City vision is to change lives through the power of education.

Genesis City includes educational programs, and wrap-around services that provide career counseling, job training, internships, health and social wellness referrals and community service activities and it is comprised of the following Centers:

Education Center.  Programs include Genesis Academy and Genesis City Boot Camp; a program for families in need of a behavioral intervention for their children and a means to motivate their children to succeed in school.

Thunderbirds Charities Life Planning Center.  Includes Dropout Prevention, Trailblazer, and WorkLink Programs.
