Georgia Children's Chorus

At Georgia Children’s Chorus (GCC), young musicians ages 7-18 gather weekly to sing in one of three treble voice ensembles. In residence at Hugh Hodgson School of Music at the University of Georgia, GCC provides a welcoming environment to foster musical and personal growth. It’s a chance for everyone to find their voice and make unforgettable memories! 

GCC was founded in 1998 as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and has educated more than 275 children in the musical arts in the past 25 years. GCC serves children and youth from over 32 public, independent, and home schools representing 12 counties. We are committed to making the GCC choral experience accessible to all children and youth in Northeast Georgia, regardless of economic status. 

Through GCC’s transformative program, singers enjoy the shared experience of creating choral music, acquire musicianship skills, and build camaraderie and community with fellow choristers. GCC strives to cultivate independent musicians as a means to nurture the growth of extraordinary human beings. We believe the qualities inherent in the pursuit of musical excellence - such as hard work, discipline, teamwork, and leadership - are the same qualities that serve our singers well in life. Furthermore, studying music provides an outlet for our young musicians to be expressive and an environment to grow through empathy. Sending strong humans and musicians out into the world is an investment in the future of music, the arts in general, and our communities!
