About Us

Providing Access to Justice and Opportunities Out of Poverty!

Georgia Legal Services Program (GLSP) is a nonprofit law firm whose mission is to provide civil legal services for persons with low incomes, creating equal access to justice and opportunities out of poverty.

GLSP's 10 offices throughout the state serve 154 of Georgia’s 159 counties, including the most rural areas where lack of transportation, little (if any) internet access, and other challenges can create barriers to justice and opportunity.  GLSP attorneys and advocates regularly travel to these areas, providing assistance with critical legal needs such as orders of protection for domestic violence victims, eviction prevention assistance for families and individuals, and access to essential public benefits such as SNAP (food stamps), health insurance through Medicaid and PeachCare for Kids, and more.

Already this year, GLSP has closed nearly 12,000 cases for our clients throughout the state.  This includes more than 3,040 cases we have handled for domestic violence survivors and their families, and more than 3,600 cases for Georgia seniors.

Over the past 51 years, we have helped more than one million Georgians protect their legal rights, create better futures for themselves and their families, and gain peace of mind.

What We Do

GLSP provides free civil legal services to individuals with low incomes and senior citizens.  Our services are provided free of charge to eligible clients and include legal representation in court and administrative hearings, community education programs, special projects, disaster legal assistance, legal clinics, hotline programs, and referrals to private attorneys and other services. Your important gift will be used to resolve critical legal problems for low income Georgians in civil (non-criminal) cases involving loss of housing, domestic violence, unemployment, inability to access health care, school discipline, individual rights, food stamps, disabilities advocacy, language barriers, and other special needs.
