$50,000 Goal

The Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation (GLLF) is committed to filling the vision gap for our children in schools who are uninsured or underinsured.  We believe every child should have access to vision care.  Therefore, in the next two years our goal is to vision screen over 10,000 scholars in, Title 1, Georgia K-12 schools throughout the state.  Out of that number we anticipate:

  • An average of 40% (4000) of the children screened will be referred - Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation will organize local ophthalmologists and optometrists to conduct regular and comprehensive exams and treatment. (Free exams and eyeglasses or otherwise, such as eye drops or referrals for surgery).
  • Special Treatment – Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation will organize special treatments through local partnerships with ophthalmologists in the area as indicated.

To achieve this goal, for the first year, it will cost approximately $556,784.  We are excited to share that we have already secured over $200,000.  A generous, anonymous, donor will match up to $50,000 of donations received from now until December 31, 2024.  Together we can meet this goal!
