We can change the food system and mitigate the effects of climate variance. But only if we do it together.

An outgrowth of a grower's association established in the 1970s, Georgia Organics became a nonprofit in 1997. For 21 years, we have been a statewide leader in the good food movement to grow healthy food, farms and families. Georgia Organics' programs, which incentive healthy food choices and sustainable farming practices have earned national recognition. We've grown from a staff of one in a rented church basement to a modern office with 15 dynamic full-time staff with statewide reach. Our annual conference attracts more than 1,000 people representing a diverse array of stakeholders in the food, health, and farming communities.

In 2019 we have:

  • Hosted our 22nd Conference & Expo in Tifton, Georgia with 500 attendees
  • Grown our Farm to Early Care program and launched Georgia’s first Farm to Early Care coalition with dozens of statewide partners
  • Honored 84 school districts for farm to school achievement. This represents almost fifty percent of Georgia’s school districts!
  • Grew the number of certified organic farms by 68% since 2014.
  • Welcomed Walton County, Waycross, Monroe, and Rome into our Food Oasis network
  • Provided thirteen metro-Atlanta farmer and their dependents with free health insurance through the Kaiser Bridge Program.
  • Launched our Organic Peanut Cooperative in South Georgia, providing a new industry and economic opportunities to under-resourced communities.

By supporting Georgia Organics, you are helping to transform our food system into one that honors the land, the people who work it, and ensures that all Georgians have access to fresh, local food.
