Vocal Point (formerly Georgia Radio Reading Service) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring that Georgians who are blind, have low vision, or live with print disabilities have equal access to news, information, and community resources. Founded in 1980 by Jim Cashin, we have spent over 45 years serving our community with dedication and care.

Since our beginning, we’ve provided a 24/7 broadcast service that delivers newspapers, magazines, books, and timely local updates in an accessible audio format. Beyond broadcasting, we connect people to technology, community programs, and opportunities that foster independence, confidence, and inclusion.

Our mission is simple but powerful: to break barriers to information and empower individuals to fully participate in the world around them. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, the commitment of volunteers, and the support of our partners, we continue to amplify voices, expand opportunities, and ensure that no one is left in the dark.
