The G.F.W.C. Woman's Club of Tallahassee aims to preserve and enhance the historic Clubhouse located in Midtown Los Robles, to enhance and support the social/economic/environmental needs of the community, with a primary focus on issues of women and children, and to elevate the awareness of its members to local, regional, and global issues facing society. The Woman's Club of Tallahassee, Inc. was founded in 1903 by six women who met at the Floridian Hotel. Although this was before women could vote, the Club's influence was felt, as women met with city officials regarding the City Market, railroad station, planting trees and upkeep of the city cemetery. In 1927, the Clubhouse was built and opened on land donated by the developers of the Los Robles neighborhood, Lonnbladh and Thornton. In 1987 the Clubhouse was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
