May 3 is not just Silicon Valley Gives Day - it is also World Asthma Day! On SVGives Day, you can make a difference in the lives of those living with Asthma.

In San Mateo County alone, approximately 92,000 children and adults have been diagnosed with asthma. You can help them live healthier, happier lives, today!

Your support will help provide resources and education to parents and caregivers of children with asthma, and help fight for clean air so that no one with asthma struggles to breathe.

Lung disease is now the second leading cause of death in the USA. Here in California over 4,000,000 Californians are living with lungdisease and over 90% of Californians continue to breatheunhealthy levels of one or more air pollutants during some part ofthe year. Poor air quality affects everyone, but it disproportionately affects those struggling with lung disease (like asthma, COPD and lung cancer).

Breathe California is dedicated to fighting lung disease, advocating for clean air and promoting public health in our local communities.  Since 1908, we have addressed the most serious health threats of our time through grassroots programs that empower individual, institutional and community change for better breathing and healthier living.

Breathe California:

* Empowers communities to affect change for improved lung health Educates our diverse communities about lung disease

* Provides support services to assist those suffering from lung disease

* Advocates for policies that promote clean air and improve public health

* Supports research to find cures, improve treatments and prevent lung disease
