GIA is a 501c-3 nonprofit organization that has been providing many supportive and community-based services in North St. Louis and surrounding areas since 2001. We have been operating nonstop throughout the pandemic providing emergency and supportive services in the St. Louis community as described below. Through private donations, volunteerism, and various Community & State partnerships,  we continue to provide access to totally free services and interventions to increase the quality of life in the north St. Louis area.

The Foundation of Excellence (FOE) provides 1 on 1 reading, math, and science tutoring to youth (grades 2-5) at risk of school failure, hold-backs and potentially dropping out. Online curricula, pre & post-testing, credentialed teaching professionals, and mandatory parent involvement are all offered FREE of charge. Second to none, this program partners with urban schools throughout the year and raises reading and math scores as high as 2-grade levels in one school year.  Due to area school closings and facility enhancements occurring since 2023, FOE had to pause and regroup.  In the fall of 2024, we plan to relaunch, expand, and customize these services to meet the needs of high school students entering their junior year committed to earning their high school diploma and post-secondary achievements.  Additional operational costs are sought to meet the demand, offer competitive salaries to qualified teachers, and issue incentives for a youth's academic achievement.

We partner with AARP's Senior Community Employment Program (AARP) which provides venue, training, and mentoring services to seniors preparing to re-enter the world of work. .
