Gideon's Promise

Each year,  Gideon’s Promise has been fulfilling its mission to transform the criminal justice system by mobilizing public defenders across the nation to provide quality representation to all people regardless of their ability to pay for counsel. It is our hope that one day the United States Supreme Court decision, Gideon v. Wainwright will become a reality for all.   

Mission:
Gideon’s Promise is a 501 (C)(3) public defender organization whose mission is to transform the criminal justice system by building a movement of public defenders who provide equal justice for marginalized communities.
Vision:
We envision a nation where every person has access to zealous, outstanding representation necessary to ensure “equal justice for all” in the criminal justice arena.
