The Gingersnap Girls Equine Education & Rescue Foundation is a non-profit, 501(c)3, humane rescue organization whose mission is to aid in the rescue and rehabilitation of abused, abandoned, sick, and slaughter bound equines and to promote humane practices for all animals.  Through our outreach program we hope to education all persons (not just horse people) to the abuse suffered by horses, ponies, donkeys, and mules.   Founded in 2004 and named after three rescued mares (all of whom loved gingersnaps) the GGF strives to help eliminate abuse through education.  We are actively working to help end the slaughter of our American horses - still being shipped to slaughter plants in Mexico and Canada - slaughtered for human consumption overseas.  An American horse is slaughtered every 5 minutes.
