Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa serves over 9,000 girls and 3,000 adults in 67 counties in Iowa, two counties in South Dakota, and one county in Nebraska. With the support and essential leadership skills that Girl Scouting provides, girls are empowered to truly aim for the stars. Whether it means pursuing her dream of being the first female President, or starting her own animal shelter, if she dreams it, she can do it. And together, we can help her get there.
There is no doubt that communities and families across our state have felt the emotional, social, and financial repercussions of the global COVID-19 pandemic this year. The sisterhood of Girl Scouting is more important than ever. We want to ensure every girl has the opportunity to join Girl Scouts in the 2020-2021 membership year so we started the Show Love Campaign, our initiative to offer free membership to all girl members and adult volunteers.
By waiving registration fees and eliminating barriers, even more girls across Iowa will have access to Girl Scout programs that help them develop the skills and connections to grow into our future women leaders who will one day change the world. The Show Love Campaign does not come without a true cost to our organization. The $25 annual membership fee, normally paid by all new and returning Girl Scout members, supports the cost of technology, liability insurance, materials, and research in girl programming. Your support of Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa is more critical than ever- we need your help to waive registration fees for all members and continue providing high quality programs to girls across Iowa.
You can help eliminate the financial barrier for girls across Iowa to join Girl Scouts. Every $25 you donate to the Show Love campaign will fund the membership for one local Girl Scout.
