When you hear about Girl Scouts, you likely think of the one-hundred-year-old traditions of camp, community service and the cookie program.  Today’s Girl Scouts honor tradition while doing so much more. Today’s Girl Scouts are breaking boundaries and excelling in all aspects of life! You’ll find them visiting college campuses, where they learn to fly drones, build robots and code computers. They are behind the scenes at major corporations:  JPL, Northrop Grumman, and Bourns Engineering to name just a few. They visit places where non-traditional female career paths can be found like fire and law enforcement agencies, railroads, and CyberSecurity programs.

Among our many career exploration opportunities, our Girl Reporter program provides hands-on opportunities to write, edit and report about their experiences. Girls immerse themselves in the fields of media, journalism, broadcasting and communication. “This program has introduced me to the hard and rewarding world of an interviewer and people in media – I’m excited to pursue a career in journalism,” said Jillian B., Senior Girl Reporter.

Our goal is $5,000 to support the Girl Reporter program. Your donation will help provide the girls with hands- on technology that enables them to connect with the digital world around them. They learn critical analysis, resourcefulness, interpersonal skills and leadership by communicating with others.  This funding will give them the chance to experience media opportunities and behind-the-scenes training with tech industry leaders and role models.
