For 110 years, Girl Scouts have been exploring the outdoors gaining important life and leadership skills.  Guided by adult volunteers, girls are discovering the wonders of nature, experiencing the thrill of adventure and challenging themselves to exceed their own expectations.

As one of the key elements in Juliette Gordon Low’s launch of the Girl Scout Movement, getting girls outdoors remains a cornerstone in Girl Scout program.  Here’s why:

•    Girls increase their competency skills by learning how to be prepared in the outdoors and practicing Leave No Trace.

•    Confidence levels rise when girls challenge their own boundaries have new outdoor accomplishments.

•    A love for nature and the natural world is developed when girls spend time outside.

•    Environmental stewardship awareness is born when girls see how their behaviors impact the environment.

Camping remains the top memorable experience that girls report having as a Girl Scout and 80% of girls are happier with their Girl Scout experience when their troop gets outdoors. Virginia Skyline is committed to providing girls with outdoor opportunities, especially at our own properties.

As Virginia Skyline celebrates 110 years of Girl Scouting, join us in elevating the importance of the outdoors with a gift supporting our council properties. Your gift is an investment in girls, a tribute to our Founder’s legacy and a partnership with the council to ensure that girls have a safe place to participate in outdoor experiences.

Thank you for supporting Girl Scouts of Virginia Skyline.
