In the last 16 years, Girls on the Run Idaho (serving the Treasure Valley) has given over 6,000 young girls in our area the tools they need to become stronger, healthier and empowered to reach any goal. Make a generous monthly donation of $16 a month for 12 months, allowing two Treasure Valley girls to participate in Girls on the Run in 2016. For a little more than the price of lunch each month, you can help these girls become stronger, healthier and empowered. Join us in celebrating 16 years of GOTR Treasure Valley!

 

 

About

Girls on the Run Idaho is an after-school program that serves girls in the Treasure Valley.  We use the power of running to build girls' self-confidence. Fall and spring program seasons are offered to girls ages 8-11 and each of the twenty, 75 minutes lessons, is led by trained, volunteer coaches who engage the girls in games and running-based workouts that encourage emotional, social, psychological and physical development. The lesson curriculum covers important issues facing girls today such as how to make healthy choices, the importance of community, media awareness, body image and self-respect. The program culminates with an end of the season 5K for which the girls train for all season.

 

Where do donations go?

We want to make sure that every girl who wants to be a GOTR girl is given that opportunity - even if their family can't afford the program. Our generous donors have provided thousands of dollars in scholarships to help these girls and you can help too!

100% of donations go back into the Girls on the Run Treasure Valley program. Donations are used to fund program costs but primarily help:

• fund scholarships for girls in lower socio-economic conditions

• sponsor curriculum and program supplies at our 25 sites

• support training for our volunteer coaches
