In November, 2011, Forbes Magazine rightfully labeled Girl Scouts, “the ultimate pipeline for women leaders.” Girl Scouts of Central and Western Massachusetts (GSCWM) gives girls access to life changing experiences that inspire them to do something big. With your help, GSCWM inspires more than 10,000 local girls in our 186 communities to set high goals and aspirations in life and instill in them the courage, confidence and character to not only improve their own lives but the communities in which they live. Girl Scouting’s impact is powerful:

  • 77% of our girls believe Girl Scouts provides them with a safe place to try new things.
  • Former Girl Scouts account for 80% of women who own businesses.
  • Since 2010, 5,840 local girls in grades K-12 have completed and earned their Financial Literacy badges indicating that they are capable of earning and managing their own money.
  • 67% of our girls attribute being a more responsible member of their community to the lessons learned in Girl Scouting.

With the support of our donors, volunteers, community partners and friends, foundations and corporations, GSCWM is able to offer programs that enable girls to start their own leadership path that shapes their future. In turn, our girls are encouraged and empowered to visualize themselves as tomorrow’s leaders. They have access to life changing experiences that inspire them to do something BIG!

The choice they make starts with you. Please consider a gift today to maintain the relevant and comprehensive programming and experiences that enable our girls to build their courage, confidence and character now, so that they can be the leaders we’ll all need tomorrow.

"I participate in Girl Scouts because it affords me with amazing opportunities that I would not get to have otherwise. I can be recognized for my dedication to community service and mastery of new skills and accomplishments. I love that I can be involved and take active leadership roles in an organization of girls who all share common goals of self-reliance, self-exploration and commitment to actively bettering our world.” ~Sophie W. Girl Leadership Board Member, 16 years old.
