We build Girl Scouts of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. Girl Scouts of Western Washington is a trusted community partner dedicated to championing girls* and providing them with opportunities to explore their passions, pursue their dreams, and become agents of change. We walk alongside Girl Scouts as trailblazers—defying the status quo to pave way for an equitable world for all girls*. Fueled by kindness and curiosity, we uplift tomorrow’s leaders as they guide us toward a brighter future.
With more than a century of experience supporting girls’ well-being, we know what helps young people thrive. We also know the challenges many girls are facing today, including rising anxiety, loneliness, and disconnection. Girls need places where they can build friendships, grow in confidence, and learn to lead with courage and kindness. That’s where Girl Scouts comes in.
As the largest girl-focused youth development organization in Washington, we currently serve 15,000 K-12 grade youth and 11,000 adult members across eighteen counties. We engage Girl Scouts in a variety of enriching, youth-led experiences through troops, camps, and skill-building activities focused on STEM, the outdoors, entrepreneurship, and life skills—preparing girls for a lifetime of leadership and achievement.
We believe all girls deserve the opportunity to benefit from life-changing Girl Scout experiences, and we partner with community leaders to adapt our programs to fit their unique needs. Our financial assistance program is 100% donor-funded, ensuring that cost is never a barrier to joining the fun, friendship, and adventure of Girl Scouts. But, due to shifting government and institutional funding priorities—plus a greater need from families for financial assistance this year—many girls are at risk of missing out in 2026.
By combining youth potential with caring adult role models and experiential learning, Girl Scouts develop a strong sense of self, positive values, challenge-seeking behaviors, healthy relationships, and community problem-solving skills. Girl Scouts outshine their non-Girl Scout peers across all five leadership outcomes.
What girls become starts with Girl Scouts—and for many, that journey starts thanks to our community's support. Invest in the Girl Scout legacy to protect these crucial experiences for today’s girls and for the next generation of leaders!
*Girl Scouts of Western Washington uses the term girl inclusively to speak to everyone who identifies with the Girl Scout experience, which includes cisgender girls, gender-expansive youth, transgender youth, non-binary youth, gender nonconforming youth, genderqueer youth, and any girl-identifying human.
