The GiveJoy Foundation

The GiveJoy Foundation spreads joy by providing students and families with resources related to physical health (body), mental wellness (mind), and character development (heart/soul). We believe JOY is the result of holistic (body, mind, heart/soul) human flourishing. This joy then empowers and guides youth to strong, healthy futures.

Our WHY
• 1 in 5 children in Texas are food insecure
• Over 19% (~1 million) of Texas children live in poverty
• Texas ranks 44th nationally in overall child well-being
• 1 in 6 youth will experience a mental health disorder each year
• Food insecurity leads to a host of health problems. People who are hungry are 2.9x more likely to be in poor health and are more susceptible to chronic conditions like diabetes. Food insecurity has also been linked to higher rates of obesity among both adults and children
• Each year, teachers spend over $900 out of pocket to provide food and school supplies to students.
