Giving Tree School Inc

For 38 years, Giving Tree School has been providing a child-focused preschool education in Franklin County, Massachusetts.  We have been proud to offer subsidized tuition rates for over 75% of our families.  In addition, Giving Tree helps to support families through our scholarship fund when unforseen complications arise.  

OUR MISSION   

The mission of the Giving Tree School is to encourage and respect every child, parent, and teacher through caring interactions and a stimulating environment. Every child brings a unique set of needs and interests to learning. Giving Tree responds to each child by enriching and supporting each stage of the child’s development, carefully building depth, confidence, and skills at that stage before moving on to the next. Our unique setting and outstanding teachers are able to support emerging literacy, math, music, art, social, and physical abilities in an environment rich with nature and problem solving experiences. Giving Tree is committed to fostering active, hands-on early learning experiences that are playful and purposeful, providing a foundation for a lifelong love of learning.

THE IMPACT OF GIVING 

As a non-profit school, Giving Tree continues to balance affordable early childhood education with the demands of education in the 21st century.  The scholarship fund helps to off set the cost of tuition for families.The scholarship aid impacts not only the child, but the entire family.  Below is a note from a former a Giving Tree parent, describing her experience: 

"I can't even begin to tell you how appreciative of the Giving Tree teachers and staff I am.  To be away from my child 8 hours daily, five days a week working full time, knowing that he was with such skillfull, kind, patient and smart teachers and staff- let me have such a calm piece of mind- I never once in 3 years thought he wouldn't be safe or cared for. I knew he was having a great time learning all the things I'd want to be be learning- being with adults who I respect so mich.  I am in deep gratitude for helping to guide and shape the love of my life during the most important years of his learning".

We believe that a quality early education with conflict resolution skills provides a solid foundation to life long learning.  The conflict resolutiuon tools, which both children and parents learn through our workshops and classroom modeling, transcends beyond our classroom.  Learning to deal with conflict through conversation helps to build tolerant and peaceful interactions.
