GlassRoots transforms lives by fostering creative self-expression, life-long learning and self-esteem through the wonder of glassmaking.  Located in the heart of downtown Newark, NJ, GlassRoots believes that communities can be transformed through art.  Lured by the opportunity to “play with fire,” otherwise underserved youth find a nurturing environment in which they can also obtain basic business skills.  Many of our students learn how to bring their creations to the marketplace and through their experience with us and with each other they develop self-confidence and valuable life skills.
