Glenmeadow Inc

A nonprofit organization

In 1884, a group of civic leaders met to establish a home for retired "gentlewomen" where they could live out the balance of their days with dignity.  They raised funds among themselves and from other prominent area families and purchased a house in downtown Springfield.  The Springfield Home for Aged Women became home to 16 women - a first for western Massachusetts.

Today we're known as Glenmeadow and we offer independent and assisted living to more than 150 people at our Tabor Crossing campus in Longmeadow.  We also assist other seniors and their families in greater Springfield through Glenmeadow at Home, which provides personal care, handyman services, and housekeeping.  Many area seniors also take part in Glenmeadow's Lifestyle Pass program, which provides access to daily wellness activities, social events, and dining services. And our Learning Series offers free educational programs on a variety of topics in convenient locations throughout the area. Our newest offering, Glenmeadow Getaways, offers day trips and longer adventures for those seeking quality travel experiences.

As a mission-driven, not-for-profit organization, Glenmeadow exists for one reason:  to provide premier services for seniors.  Our emphasis on values - caring, compassion, integrity, quality, and stewardship - is our hallmark and has earned us an impeccable reputation, made possible through strong volunteer leadership and generous philanthropic support.
