When the founder of Global Charity Foundation, Dr. Reeta Kaul Thukral, emigrated from India 40 yrs. ago, she had only $8 in her pocket and her medical degree. With her hard work, dedication and perseverance, she became a highly successful doctor in the United States. She believes Education is the key to creating brighter futures in this world.

Statistics unanimously show that education is one of the most powerful tools available to humanity and plays a major role in an individual’s success. Today's society values education to a degree of necessity. However, Nevada recently ranked last in the nation in this capacity. Nevada also has the third-lowest high school graduation rate in the country. Global Charity Foundation is determined to change this and help Nevada build brighter futures.  Reeta's commitment to this philosophy has driven her to create educational programs locally in Las Vegas and internationally in Ghana, and India. Reeta has an all-volunteer GCF team, with an immense amount of commitment to the cause, to make these projects possible.

In the summer of 2012 with due research about different ways to help middle school students improve their comprehension in core subjects to be at their grade level and succeed, GCF and The 100 Academy of Excellence in Las Vegas started a summer tutoring program initiative for 6th to 8th grades. Having seen the success of the program, GCF leaped at the year round after school tutoring program, 4 hours a week, to make a big difference in the lives of the students. By funding tutoring, GCF helps to build strong foundations for children preparing to attend high school.  In turn, these children are equipped to give high school their all, and ultimately, graduate.

After the first year, we can proudly call the GCF After-School Tutoring Program a fabulous success! The 32 children who participated in the program are becoming leaders in their classes. It has become "cool" to be enrolled in the GCF tutoring program and be smart!  After a recent visit to the Academy, GCF was ecstatic to learn that our program is so popular that there is a waiting list!  Last year, we had 71 students go through our tutoring program. The GCF After-School Tutoring is in it’s 3rd year, our program is now in 3 Greater Las Vegas Charter Schools with an enrollment over 100 students.

We hope to continue to expand the program and allow all interested students the same opportunity to increase their comprehension in Math, Science, Reading, and Writing, and ultimately, brighten their futures.

It only costs $350 per student per school year. (one dollar a day) Reaching our goal would put 6 more children through our much needed program.
