The Arts Fuse began publishing in July 2007 as an online arts magazine for Greater Boston with in-depth criticism, previews, interviews, and commentary covering dance, film, food, literature, music, television, theater, video games, and visual arts. We take arts coverage (particularly criticism) seriously. Celebrating our 12th anniversary in 2019, The Arts Fuse now has published more than 6,000 articles and receives 35,000+ visits every month. The Arts Fuse is dedicated to creating an online space for thoughtful criticism and commentary as well as to spark conversation and greater participation in the arts and entertainment in Boston.

In reaction to the declining arts coverage in newspapers, magazines, radio, and television, Editor-in-Chief Bill Marx started The Arts Fuse as a nonprofit organization dedicated to generating professional online arts criticism. It is also interested in finding new and innovative ways to use the online platforms to evolve the cultural conversation, bringing together critics, readers, and artists.

The Arts Fuse is funded by reader donations, underwriting/advertising, grants, and major gifts.

By donating to The Arts Fuse, you directly help us pay our writers and critics for their incredible writing. Our writers put in hours of work seeing, hearing, reading, and attending the arts and providing our readers with a much-needed critical understanding of it.

We also use our income for marketing, to help us grow our readership, which was 10,000 web visits a month in 2011 and is now over 35,000 web visits a month in 2019.

Please donate today and share your donation on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, or by email!

Don't forget to tell your friends, family, neighbors, and colleagues about The Arts Fuse and help our readership to grow!
