Global Press is a women-led international news organization that transforms international journalism by disrupting global narratives and promoting local access to information. By reimagining international journalism to foster global equity, we help people better understand our world.

Since 2006, Global Press has recruited and trained more than 250 reporters globally. Today, we operate independent news bureaus in 37 communities all over the world and produce award-winning journalism. Key to our success is that the only reporters we recruit, train and employ are local women who represent their own communities.

All of our reporters have the agency to decide which stories they want to cover, but most of the topics focus on health, human rights, education, arts, economy, environment, and migration. We publish all of their reporting in English and the local language on our multilingual news publication, Global Press Journal, and share the stories with our republication partners, which helps us reach millions of readers across 190 countries.

We believe that world-class employment leads to world-class journalism. So we provide our reporters with strong wages, health benefits, industry-leading family leave, unlimited vacation days, and professional development. Everyone has access to our Duty of Care program, a holistic security system we built for local women reporters for whom, in a crisis, extraction is not an option. This program is central to our ethos and operations and is why our reporters say they stay with Global Press.

We believe people everywhere should have access to information that helps them pursue policy change, hold their governments accountable and make critical decisions about their lives. But in order to achieve this, we must transform inaccurate global narratives by enabling local people to report news and other information in and about their own communities.

The question we ask is: What happens when you change the storyteller?

You change the story. And that changes everything.
